Wellington College celebrates 150 Years:
Thursday, 19 October - Sunday 22 October 2017.
Our 150th Celebrations will be the culmination of our anniversary year and we are going to make sure it happens in style! Our celebrations will give you the chance to return to Wellington College and let the memories come flooding back.
This is our opportunity to celebrate with the thousands of people - Old Boys, current students, staff and friends who have all played an integral part of our community over the past 150 years and who have made Wellington College into the inspiring school of choice for young men that it is today.
Wellington College is flourishing and we look forward to welcoming back everyone to celebrate together our many achievements.
Events include a full school assembly for current students, staff and Old Boys; our Welcome Night ‘Cheers & Beers to 150 Years’ Party; an Open Day at the College with a plethora of performing arts and sports fixtures, and includes escorted tours of the College campus and a visit to our Archives and memorabilia displays; and our ‘Salute to Wellington College’ Gala Dinner. Sports Broadcaster, John McBeth will MC the evening and we are delighted to announce that award-winning comedian and Old Boy, Dai Henwood of 7 Days and Family Feud fame is our guest speaker. Gather up ten classmates, book a table and enjoy a night of reminiscing. We will also host a WCOBA Golf Tournament and a Dinner for Firth House Boarders.
Wellington College | Celebrating 150 Years
We are looking forward to a wonderful, memorable weekend, so don’t leave it another 25 years before you return. Spread the word amongst your contemporaries and remember that tables of 10 at the Salute to Wellington College Gala Dinner on the Saturday night are hugely popular. Thank you to the fifteen present and former staff and students who have so willingly been part of our North Island-wide radio campaign – you have all done an amazing job of going on the airwaves and increasing awareness, enquiries and registrations.

A special message for our Firth House Boarders.
- Partners: The consensus from the College when planning the programme is to give priority to Old Boys and Staff in the first instance for ticket allocation to the two evening events due to the size of the venues and anticipated numbers. Thus there is not an option at this stage to include partners but we will review it in due course should there be a demand and if seating allocation can accommodate partners. We will be seating guests in their cohort or as near to as possible, but you are able to indicate a preference on the registration form in the “notes” section if you wish to secure a table of ten with fellow Old Boys. Unfortunately, since the new Hall will not be completed in time and because Wellington does not host a range of large-sized venues, we are limited on the numbers we can accommodate at such events. We are however, investigating in conjunction with the WCC, a programme for partners for the evenings. We hope that our Old Boys and Staff appreciate the situation and that our priority in the first instance is them.
